Meet Max + Ashley and the story behind TNT Taproom!

Max grew up coming to Sun Valley with his family all of his life. He learned to ski and then snowboard on Badly with his parents. He has many fond memories growing up spending summers on Lefty’s deck and winters drinking schooners at Grumpy’s in ski gear. Fast forward many years to the winter of 2018 when Max invited Ashley to join for the holidays. After a few nights out at the well loved Cellar and of course The Casino, Ashley was well just kind of bored with the lack of options for a night out. Over the next few days Ashley’s brain was quick at work thinking of something different and new that she would enjoy as one visiting the valley. Somewhere that wasn’t quite a dive bar (which she’s a sucker for) but a cozy place to grab a nice glass of wine or cold beer that wasn’t a restaurant or hotel bar. She thought something in-between the two would be appreciated as another alternative and that was the initial birth of what we now know as TNT Taproom! Back in Seattle Max was trying to open his own brewery but with the market so saturated luck was not on his side. Before we knew it, it was February 2019, we had acquired the historic Dynamite Shed (more on that later) and packed up our car and began the drive to Sun Valley to bring the vision from winter of 2018 to life! We narrowed down to serving craft beer and a focus on natural and sustainable wines. We then had to pick a name. If only it was so simple! We had thrown around quite a few ideas but truly nothing was a better fit than TNT Taproom, as the dynamite shed stored dynamite long ago. After 10 short months of renovations, lots of patience and help, we proudly and anxiously opened our doors December of 2019. Covid came and went..well kind of, not really but nevertheless we still stand with our hearts, arms and doors open to our guests who quickly turn friends! We can’t wait to have you in for a pint, or few. See you soon!
